Jon Norman is a professional engineer with over 10 years experience in consulting and government. His career spans both the energy and environmental sectors, as well as management consulting. Jon is currently the Director of Transmission and Distribution Policy with the Ontario Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, where he is responsible for policy development related to electricity grid expansion, smart networks, and Ontario’s new feed-in-tariff program. In his previous roles in government, he conducted negotiations on hydroelectric power purchases and climate change cap and trade, and led policy around Ontario’s coal replacement program. Jon holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an interdisciplinary master’s degree in engineering and economics from the University of Toronto.
